Our Global Ministry
Through donations from private citizens and in collaborations with other local churches and businesses, Highspire UMC is always seeking ways to support our worldwide mission. Much of the work we do toward that worldwide mission is in support of UMCOR.
UMCOR: As the humanitarian relief and development arm of The United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Committee on Relief – UMCOR – assists United Methodists and churches to become involved globally in direct ministry to persons in need.
October 2022 – Present
Cleaning buckets and hygiene kits: filling buckets for UMCOR, flood clean up materials such as detergents, kitchen gloves, clothes line and pins, N-95 respirators masks, leather work gloves, trash bags, etc, were, and still are being collected to resupply warehouse stock needed for disaster relief across the nation and the world. In addition to the clean up materials, 21 hygiene kits that included items such as menstrual supplies, hand sanitizer, hand soap, wipes, etc. were collected.
